Everybody’s most anticipated cheering competition was held last Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the Araneta Coliseum. Surprisingly, there were more than 23,000 crowds who attended to witness the event. Most of which were students from the UAAP participating schools to support their own pep squad.
Cheers and screams of the audience roared over the coliseum as each pep squad strut off their breathtaking stunts they have toiled to perfect months before.
It was yet another victory for the University of the Philippines Pep Squad. They bagged the UAAP Cheerdance title this year. The Salinggawi Dance Troupe of the University of Sto. Thomas failed to reclaim their spot, got the 2nd place. Running third in place were Far Eastern University Pep Squad.

Those competitions really get you riled up! My daughter is a varsity cheerleader and is also on the competition squad, so I know how cheer crazy they can be! :)
UP Pep also got the gold in last year's UAAP cheerdance competition.
